    Fluctuating Schedule..

Alright heres the deal. I love lifting. I see a lot of set schedules that people follow through out the week. What do you guys think about a day by day routine. If I do a day of of big compund motions when I feel like my body needs its and then the next day I feel I need a smaller lift like a tricep workout or something, etc. Does it work to just do what feels right if even if you dont have a written down on paper schedule? Oh yea and I had a few beers tonight so it may not all make sense!

You want to work out every day?

While you do need some consistency so you keep doing the exercises, it's good to avoid being repetitive so your body doesn't get used to your workout. Just make sure you get ample rest, and record your actual weights and stuff (assuming you're interested in making gains).

I keep groups of lifts on the same day I just dont have a scribed in stone schedule. I pretty much am listening to my body, so to speak. If I feel a part of my body is worked on a day when I am "scheduled" to lift that part of the body I may rotate in a different lift. Good or disasterous idea?

You just have to decide what's right for you. For me, I need to have a schedule written down very specifically as far as reps, sets, weights, rest periods, etc. I also keep a log on my computer with comments written about the exercise (such as "good weight, concentrate on form", or, "add 10 lbs") because I like having everything very organized and I like having an easy way to keep track of progress. So I would just give it a try and if you like the flexibility and are making progress you're satisfied with, you might as well keep at it.
