    What to eat before Cardio?

Quick Question: I try to do cardio on the days I do not lift to burn extra fat ( I am still over weight with a spare tire ) and this is my problem: Most people say to not eat anything before doing cardio to get the best results. The gym where I work out opens at 9:00am and I have to get up at 6:00am. I do not want to go a whole three hours without eating and then try to exersize, one reason being that I am starving by that time. I would also like to eat to get my metabolism started, but do not really want to hinder the effect of my cardio. Can anyone make any suggestions on what I should eat to not really hinder the effect of my cardio workout.

    Thanx

Not necessarily true. I've read in places that you should eat just a little if you are doing cardio first thing in the morning after bed. Remember, you've been sleeping for how many hours?? during which time you have not fed the body. Doing cardio in this state can easily burn muscle which IS NOT want you want. I do cardio at 5AM and about 15-20 minutes before, I eat a bagel and half an apple along with some water. I then finish the apple after the cardio and eat breakfast along with a protein drink when I get home.

I don't understand why you have to get up 3 hours before?
