I don't think many people around here like it...my brother did it for a while and didn't seem to like it. It's kind of a pussy workout, from what I know..

not if you do it right. I like HST but I always had to add in extra leg work for myself...

What are your goals? If it is power lifting, Westside is popular and if bodybuilding the P/RR/S is popular as well. Do a search, read a little on each then ask questions. Lots of folks to help you out here.

Search HST yay or nay -and you find an old thread of mine.

    HST - yay or nay?

I remember adding in back work, I forget what else. I also split it into 6 days, not 3. If you do the 3 day version though, wow you sweat like a mother, its just about cardio by itself when the rest periods are low and the reps are higher.

It's certainly worth a try. It has a sound scientific backing. I have never tried it myself, but I doubt you are going to lose any mass or strength on the routine; you have nothing to lose.

I really liked it, BUT I did it for 5 weeks and not longer. I could only handle one week of the 5 rep period, my left arm especially was hurting from strength gains at that time.

I like to do things different now and then for a changeup, even if I dont swear by the program as a year round thing.

Training is done in cycles, 2 weeks at each rep range as an example. I did two weeks of ~15 reps, two weeks of ~10 reps, and one week of 5 rep.
