Shedding fat

I have fat on my stomach, simple and plain. Cant get rid of it. I sit at a desk all day so that is most likely the cause.

My diet is marginally good, I stay away from the main bad stuff: junk food, mayo etc...

I have been training now for a year and I am content with almost everything else but this goddamned fat on my gut.

My question is if I was to start going heavy on cardio as well as weights every alternate day would it cut me nicely? Something like this:
day1: weight training, day2: cardio, day3: weight training etc... every day of the week, except may saturday + sunday .

Ideas? At this point I will do anything to shave off this lard!

I am willing to bet your diet isn't as sound as you think it is. Just because you stay away from "bad stuff" doesn't mean your diet is sufficient to help you attain the level of bodyfat you wish for. Post your exact diet in the diet and nutrition section.

Wow fast replies - thanks guys.

You're right my diet isnt the best but I work *ALL* day I am almost never away from my pc. Its difficult to eat right at the office, very limited resources , any suggestions for a good diet template?

Even so theoretically lets say my diet was to remain constant, would cardio every alternate day assist and if so how much we talking here?

Believe me, you can do it. I work outside with airplanes, and I am somehow able to cram in 3 meals while I'm at work. I eat while I'm throwing bags if I really have to. Everyone knows me as the guy who is constantly eating.

I sit in front of a computer at work for 8 hours, I never miss a meal. Greatest job, can't believe they pay me for this.

hehe thanks cowpimp, you are 100% right. There is no excuse its time for me to get off my ass and start eating correctly, I even already knew this. Just needed someone knowledgable to tell me I do, if that makes sense

Although I really dont know where to begin. My diet these days is well kind of erratic, the only thing I could tell you about it is what i said already "stay away from majorly bad stuff".

I guess a good place to get started on my new diet would be:

Certainly a good place to start. This thread:

http://www.ironmagazineforums.com/sh...ad.php?t=21113 (Guide to Cutting, Bulking & Maintenance)

is also a good place to get information. That is how I got started with my diet changes. Feel free to check out my journal too. Although I am bulking, I eat approximately the same items when I am trying to lose bodyfat, just in smaller portions.

that is the only way to truely eat healthy especially if losing bf is a major concern...you have to prepare the majority of your own foods in advance. I use sunday to prepare most of my foods for the week...

My work fridge is stocked with low-carb skim milk, low carb wraps, turkey, tuna, alpine lace swiss, mustard, and other goodies from time to time. My draw is full of oats, whey isolate, law carb Special K, and Fiber One.

So yeah, I plan ahead.
