hey whats up.. some questions here

hey whats up guys.. im a new member so im not really all familiar with past threads..
here are my questions.. i want the type of body that is muscular and lean.. not the body builder type or those huge guys ( no offense to them) but more of a body one whould see on a mens health magazine..
i already trained my body almost to the point of what i want.. but i still have alot of work to do.
does this sound like a good workout?
    monday-chest
    tuesday-bis and tris and forarms
wed- back, lats, shoulders and traps
i mix in cardio everyday..and do those workouts back to back everyday
Is it bad to work out everyday like that??.. even if im not killing myself when i lift since they are all seperate muscle groups ( or so i believe)??
next question i guess is..what is the best way to do my reps??
should i do 12-10-8..10-10-10..6-6-4..10-8-6.. should i alternate them.. and if so should i do them every other week or 12 weeks of one type and 12 weeks of another..
next is..is isopure whey protien good? ( because thats what i take) if anyone else takes it or knows about it.. please tell me your opinion..
-is it essential to do the build mass 12 weeks then cut for 12 weeks?
and lasty.. is it true that you shouldnt do more than 20 reps a day on one specific muscle group.
wow.. i think i have too many questions.. i hope you all dont think its annoying..
thnks for reading.. please give me your insight and answers..

First, unless your on roids, you will NOT get a pro body builders body, sorry.
Your workouts not the best but it will work, you need more rest.
Your rep scheme is fine, I like lower reps, my buddy likes high, we both get results.
    Any protien is good.
3 months isn't much time for bulking up, I'd increase that time, remember, building muscle is mostly about diet, learn as much as you can about it.
    Cool

What about working your legs? These aren't important? Is this because most health and fitness mags only show the top?

No offense, but that routine is terrible.

    • Chest has it's own day, yet the back does not. The back involves a far greater mass and number of muscles as compared to the chest. If anything, the back/lats deserve their own day, and shoulders and traps should be coupled with chest.

    • You don't do leg work. Huge mistake. The greatest hormonal response comes from squats and deadlifts. Hormones help keep you in an anabolic state. Therefore, you should strive to achieve the greatest hormonal response from your workouts. The proper leg exercises will lead to greater core strength, and yes, greater upper body development.

    • You don't insert rest days in between sessions. You grow while you rest and sleep, not while you lift. Give yourself time to heal. Natural bodybuilders need more rest time than steroid users.

I used to do the following split:

    Monday - Chest, Shoulders, Traps
    Tuesday - Back
    Thursday - Arms
    Friday - Legs

your legs are also 50% of your body.

you see tons of people with a big upper body and small legs but you almost never see anyone with a decent set of wheels and a small torso...which one do you want to be ?
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

basically you want a lean physique? well, so do MANY people.

So, learn how to train correctly, eat correctly, rest correctly, and do cardio to keep a low bf, and in some time, you'll be on your way...

You're not going to get huge and massive overnight. It is going to take you many years to reach that point; I mean on the order of 10-20 years. Hell, to reach the point of the guys on Men's Health you are going to have to train for years. Those guys are fairly big, if they are natural bodybuilders.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Focus on your diet. If you want to gain muscle mass, then diet is the most important item on your agenda. If you want to lose fat while retaining muscle mass, then diet is the most important item on your agenda. If you merely want to maintain your current physique, then diet is the most important item on your agenda. Get the idea?
