P/RR/S QuestioN!

Hello, I am currently on the 2nd week of P/RR/S and was wondering if I want to get huge how the rep range is going to do that? In order to do more reps wouldn't I have to lower the weight to achieve more reps? How is that making more stress on you muscles to get bigger...wouldn't that get them more ripped? Also same with the shock...more reps although we are doing supersets after we are still doing less weight which I hear isn't the best for building mass fast. Maybe Gopro or someone could in detail explain the science behind the routine to me a little better to understand if this is an overall workout that works excellent or not good for a putting on mass workout. Thank you very much :0

You are actually TOO huge, and not a representation of "typical" results as achieved by P/RR/S! I don't want people's expectations getting too high.

Yea....I am almost done with this week and feel good after doing it..just a little skeptical on the high reps because I thought they were more geared towards getting ripped opposed to getting huge. Also is 5 sets good for a body part..such as back/chest/shoulders/legs? Also does it matter as to what kind of exercises you decide to do on a rep range/power week?

5-6 for larger parts 4-5 for smaller. Try and keep to compound moves on heavy week and on rep range 1-2 compound exercises followed by 1-2 isolation.

First of all, getting ripped is merely a function of bodyfat. Less bodyfat makes for greater visibility of what was previously hidden beneath the fat. Granted, more muscle mass means that the musculature underneath is more defined with an equal amount of fat still on top, but an equal amount of fat and a greater amount of muscle means a lower bodyfat level. Toning at very high reps is a myth. The best rep range for toning is the one that produces the greatest hypertrophic effect.

Although this is a highly debateable topic, according to the theory of contractile protein degradation, the optimal rep range for hypertrophy is something like 5-12 repititions. Really heavy weights at low reptitions is better for improving neuromuscular efficiency than inducing hypertrophy. Really light weights at high repititions is better for improving muscular endurance.

I have grown on high reps...I have grown on low reps. There is more than one type of fiber to hypertrophy and different hormonal and metabolic adaptions that take place from different rep ranges and techniques, that all contribute to increasing the size of a muscle.
