I only listen to music on my 1RM. Preferably "Sooooooooomewheeeeeeeeeere Ooooooooover the Raaaaaaainbow"

OF COURSE we listen to music. Something to the idea of Pantera, Hatebreed and Metallica. Everything else is like Church music to me

Nothing gets me more pumped then hearing Jamie Jasta yell out "Let the blood spill!" before the breakdown in a call for blood. I honestly think it increases my 1rm by like 5-10 pounds

Are you dead serious? Even 5 pounds in 3 days on steroids would be good, creatine is not that insane. In fact it does very very little for me.

How about starting a new thread.

Concentrate on what? You aren't painting a masterpiece, you are pressing as hard and fast as you can against a load. I always listen to music, even if its the crapptastical gym music that I hate.

f***k man I really hate those gyms who only play stupid radios.
why?
Of course the owners employ dumb ladies who can't stand any metal or hardcore musics.
It is really stupid to play R & B or pop in training sessions.

When my training partner doesn't show, I listen to some tunes. Usually Flaw and Breaking Benjamin

creative nomad II - 64 megs worth of music , and if you degrade the quality a bit like i do you can get like 36 songs on there. Plenty for just working out. The Nomad 2 only costs like 50 bucks too.

I used to have my own music going for a while, but then I started heading to the gym with my gf and stopped with the music. Then I gave up the gf, so I'm gonna start with the music again. I am a big dane/hiphop/techno fan, but as soon as I walk into the weight area, nothing but heavy metal or rock touches my ears. Dance and up tempo music is good for cardio, but nothing gets my mind tuned for lifts than the rock.

Check Best Buy constantly. If all you want is something to drag with you to the gym, you can pick up a run of the mill MP3 player for pretty cheap. Don't go 64 meg. Try to get at least 128 meg of memory and up. The more memory, the more expensive, obviously. In the sub $100 range, I think most are pretty much the same. If you can find one with an inline remote, they are nice, but once you have your music going, you probably won't want to change it. Try and find one with random play capability. If you are too lazy to change the songs constantly, at least they'll play in a different order (making it less boring).

I got an MP3 player that accepts the IBM Microdrives or a standard flash card, I got a 256 meg flash card which these days is like $30. The MP3 player is pretty cool, I got that for like $35/$40.

I considered one of the newer Mini Discs also, USB 2.0 would be much faster than my current MP3 players 1.1 Plus you can avoid multiple upload/downloads by having various discs at hand.

I can fit about 4 albums on my setup though with 128-192kbit stuff which is good enough for me, I change some tunes maybe once every 2 weeks or so. I had a 64 megger with embedded memory before until it locked up when flashing which killed it, that is only enough space for one album though.
