remember when you started weightlifting you were MOST probably struggling with 60's on the db curls and can't get it up. at that time it feels realy heavy, and really really heavy on your joints. however over time as you get stronger you may be able to lift the 60's easily for maybe a good 6 to 8 reps. what puzzles me is that does it still feel as shearing on your joints than when you started lifting?
another e.g the world's strongest bench press-er is lifting 1000+ lbs for his 1 rm. therefore 400lbs would be 40% for his 1RM(wtf). most of us think that 400lbs is fuggin and impressive(well,i do). if i were to rep with 40% of my 1rm without warm up would be ez and safe for me. does that mean that that guy can warm up with 400lbs for 12-15 reps easily? won't it feel extremely painful on the joints?
More weight means more stress on one's joints. However, weight training does strengthen your bones and joints. You will become more resiliant to stress on these parts of your body, but that resiliancy can only go so far.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
