    Lifting Bands

This guy I know at the gym has began to use them. He has two bands, both are rated at 50 LB. He holds them on the ground using 100 LB dumbells, the top is wrapped around the bar. 3 Months ago the guy was able to press 365, now he is doing 405. I must have some, anyone know where I can get them?

There was a guy in his 50's at my old gym who used to use these. Not sure if he got gains from them or not. Im not sure i believe some rubber bands provided a gain of 40 lbs on the bench. I would be willing to bet it was more of the barbell press than the bands that created this strength gain. Ive seen them all over the place, but i believe their the ones women use for pilates and stuff. Not sure if they are the same thing.

the guy is most likely using the jumpstretch bands as a method of gaining speed in his bench. Here is an article explaining chain/band usage:http://www.deepsquatter.com/strength/archives/ls15.htm
Just do a google seach for "jump stretch bands" and look around for the cheapest price.

Those bands are used primarily by powerlifters. From what i've read they work well.
