    When is best to lift?

For me there are really only two times of day that I can lift because of my job, either early in the morning or late at night. As I have said in previous posts, my job is physical: cardio/resistance with my arms and shoulders so I do get exercise there, but I don't gain strength from it because the weight is constant. Should I get up earlier in the morning to lift or should I lift after I get home. 2nd shift where I work is 2:45 to 10:45 and I get home around 11:30ish. What do you suggest? I'm thinking that earlier would be better since I'll have more energy. Thanks everyone.

doesnt really matter. if youre bulking then the earlier the better because all you eat later in the day will get sent to your muscles. i can only choose from two times: 8 am or 10 pm. i do 10 pm because i puke when i lift before noon. sux.

I work 2-10:30PM, and I always lift before work. I feel like I would slack off if I tried to lift after work, not to mention the gym is closed.

Many people will argue one time is better than another, but I think whatever is most comfortable for you is more important.

I work out when I am most awake, and obviously not when I am at work

See, i'd use this reason to train later in the day, not earlier. I train a lot better with several meals in me.

However, if i started training first thing in the morning, i'd eventually climatize myself to training then so would have productive workouts at that time.

I think it's probably best to try and be as consistent as possible when it comes to training. It's amazing how much a little difference like the time of day you train can affect a workout.

At present, i'm training some days before noon and other days as late as 6-7pm. This is not through choice but because i just train whenever i can right now.

However, like said above, it's really dependant upon the individual and when they prefer to train. I wouldn't get too caught up into the whole morning hGH and T levels and all that jazz.
