    30 mins cardio before workout?

I've heard from a few guys at work that go to the gym everyday and been doing it for years that they always do 30 mins cardio to warm up before each workout. Is this good or bad? I dont know if instead of warming up I might endup tired and not be able to lift as much as I would want to.

30 minutes sounds a tad much

a friend of mine that is an olympic lifter does a 20min. warm up of callastenics before he works out. usually like ballistic movements, light snatches and hops and stuff to get his body warmed up and his heart rate up a bit.

thats too much pre-workout...IMHO. I did that once...and i had nothing left in the tank for my workout. Post workout cardio is best for me!
