do you have an ab ball???
thats a pretty good thing to use...
grab some wieghts and do some crunches with em,
do leg lifts, and everytime you go down hold them like 2 inches from the ground.

some thing else you might try if you dont have and ab ball is take your bench get some one to sit on your legs have your body hang off the end and do crunches like that.

    here ya go
    http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exer...cle=Abdominals
tons there , I recommend the Jackknife ones
I've tried weighted ab work before and all it did was kinda "poof" my stomach out anyways this is my current routine (no rests inbetween exercises)
    Mon - 100 jackknifes
    100 bent -knee hip raises
    Wed- 100 jackknifes
    50/50 side crunches
    Fri - 100 jackkifes
Some random ab exercise (air bike etc..)
I also do 5 40 second stomach vacuums everyday before breakfast and I do around 3 sessions of Pilates throughout the week

You just gotta experiment and find out what works best for you.

Get some weights, and use them in your ab routine. I like various forms of situps the best.

    Do weighted situps

I use crunchs. Nothing complicated or weighted.

Weighted sit ups make your abs look bulky. I do 400 variations of sit ups every other night.
    100 - situps
    100 - cross reaches
    100 - jack knife
    100 - scissor kicks

You've got lower abs, abs and obliques. all you'll ever need

First of all, there are no lower abs. The "lower abs" you speak of are part of the same muscle that provides the sought after six pack, the rectus abdominus. As we all know, you cannot shape a muscle. Visibility of the lower portion of this muscle is merely a function of lower bodyfat.

Why does everyone think abs are so special in the way they are trained? Your abs aren't going to grow out of proportion with the rest of your body. Although I don't have the best abs on the planet, they are pretty decent. Look in my gallery. Tell me if you think my abs are bulky. I do almost purely weighted ab work.

Not to mention that if you plan on doing other compound exercises, it is stupid, in my opinion, not to do weighted core work (Including lower back). The risk of injury during exercises like these is much lower if your core is strong.

But your giving out wrong information. Your abs are defined because of low bf, not because of ab exercises.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

What the hell? Weighted ab work makes your abs look bulky? That is utter nonsense, in the truest definition of the word. That ab routine stinks - for some reason people like to overtrain the abs and not use progressive resistance. BIGGER, BETTER ABS COME with using weights and dieting; how ridiculous we are to want big biceps, big triceps, big shoulders, and puny overtrained "abs". Train your abs like you would train any other body part..

Here is a good one, tell me if you feel the burn after just ten reps of these puppies!

Start up-right in a regular sit up position, grab a medicine ball (you choose the weight)
Go down to where your lower back is on the ground but your upper back would still be off the floor (your stomach muscles should be tightened here), hold for two seconds then with the medicine ball in hand go all the way back with putting the medicine ball behind your head (this should stretch out your abs) but stay in the same place with your abs contracted, hold for two seconds then bring the ball back down to the 2nd position and then all the way back up.

If you do these correctly and hold your positions (your body will shake after a while, trust me) you will feel your entire ab section (upper, lower, and obliques) screaming from pain, and you will LOVE IT! It's the best ab exercise I think I have ever done and if you have a low body fat you will see results QUICK!

    Good luck!
(I hope you understood all of that!)

I can't train my abs weighted because when I do they do end up overdeveloping and looking blocky, I do however agree with you on really strengthening the core but you can do that without the use of weights too... just my two cents worth.

Any weight will work, just make sure you BURN OUT your abs though. Doing this exercise right is the key, you can hold each position a little longer if you like. You will know if your doing them right because your body will shake and you will feel like your going to PUKE! Gotta love it!

Another good exercise would be the plank. Start in the push up position but rest your elbows on the ground instead of your hands. Keep your body in a straight line, back straight, butt out of the air and contract your abs. Put a watch in front of you and hold it for as long as you can. This exercise will also burn you out.

Keep training and it will come!
