    Competition Training

    Whatsup Fellas and Ladies,
I noticed some of the pros like Big Ron Coleman and others really pack on weight in their off season. I met Ronnie about 6 months ago and I seen it first hand. I was wondering what kind of intense training, and supplements they take to shed the weight like they do. Any pros out there could give me advise?

    Thanks,
    Bobby :

Well you'll need a lot of money to buy illegal drugs

There's a good chance you'll never look like Ronnie Coleman. I say just get down a proper routine, a proper diet, take some creatine and whey, and you'll be on your way to becoming as big as you can be.

They train very hard (well, some do). They do 1-2 cardio sessions per day. They go on a very strict diet with no junk and only clean foods.

And they use plenty of drugs...plenty!

1/2 cardio sessions per day? Why is that?

I haven't done so called cardiovascular exercise in months, minus bi-weekly sessions of basketball to keep me quick

My heart-rate gets higher doing squats and leg extensions than when I'm jogging.

I know what you meant. That just seems excessive to me. I guess it requires extreme measures to hit 4% bodyfat.

Jogging isn't necessarily the best way to get your heart rate up. The callisthenics routine I have been doing gets my heart rate up higher than when I was doing HIIT cardio. I don't even have to monitor it; I can feel my heart pounding.

Lee Priest at a modest 5'4.5" would drop as much as 45 pounds in 4 weeks. Thats not just a strict diet, there are drugs involved and plenty of them.

So, I would not suggest adding 70 pounds in your off season hoping to drop it in a few months, its not healthy, and its not done in a legal manner.

If you are natural, then you are going to play with smaller numbers. Sticking close to your target bodyfat will not only be more healthy, but make dieting easier, and you will probably be much happier with yourself.

Yes, it does require extreme measures, even while on drugs.
