Most ppl I know train their bigger group muscles like Chest by performing 3-4 exercises each, and stick with 2-3 exercises for smaller muscle groups like Biceps. The same thing goes for me, as I perform barbell, hammer and dumbbell curls all the time. However the thing is that since I'm training Back at the same time with bics, which consist of pullups, pulldowns, Rows, etc, they will also be affecting my biceps. So TECHNICALLY on that day, I'll be training my Biceps with 6-7 exercises actually if you count the Back exercises. Same theory goes with Chest/Triceps/Shoulders.
Will that be consider as overtraining? |

I only use 2-3 exersises for large muscle groups and 1-2 for small. As far as overtraining your biceps, you will only be working them once per week, so you should be fine. But, as bharminder said, it depends how many sets, not just the amount of exercises.

I agree with your original assessment, combining the compound movements and the isolation movements gives you the total number of sets you're working the bis or tris. Too much? Maybe. Depends on you. I've added an isolation movement or two to the end of chest or back day to hit the tris or bis a little extra if I feel they need it. In most cases I was sorry I did. My arms didn't fully recover before it was time to hit chest or back again, so I lost good training time due to my own greed/impatience. My situation is one of pure size though, I want to be BIG. If you're aiming more towards shape the additional sets may be just what you need.
