Serious Training
I'm just looking for as much help as possible with regards to training. I'm 6ft 1" and weigh about 12stone. I am not really overweight in general, however I am a semi-professional football (soccer) player in England, and am really out of shape at the moment.
I am generally strong, but my body is hardly a masterpiece. My breasts are beginning to sag a little, and I am developing a slightly larger gut than I should have. For a 19 year old football player, I'm not exactly in top notch shape. Thing is, since Christmas I have been drinking heavily and not really watching what I eat. I was not incrediby fit before hand (I've always been a big lad) but I now find myself really lagging. If someone could perhaps give me some information in what I should be looking for in terms of diet, what I should be doing in training etc. I'd really appreciate it. I have seen advertisements in magazines about pills that 'supposedly' cause a pretty large decrease in body fat. Anyone know if things like that actually work? Finally, someone suggested I should try creatin in order to improve the buliding of muscles. Is this a good idea? Any help appreciated, Thanks |

Thanks for your help.
Just another thing, I just got back from the gym where I had one of the really concentrated on the aerobic side of things, e.g treadmill etc. I spent around two hours running etc. before going for a quick swim. However, I felt completely knackered. That's not a problem, and to be excpected, but I found the only way to bring myself back to life again so to speak was by eating a few sugary biscuits and drinking a sugary drink. I then realised this was perhaps defeating the object, obviously with sugary porducts having a high calary-count. Is there anything else I can do to bring my energy levels back up? |

I agree with Tank, don't fall into all the hype over sups, proper diet and a good weight training program should be your first priority.
Welcome to the board. |

And YES eating stuff with sugar is BAD, get some protein and good carbs in you to get your energy back. Check out the nutrition board for some good food ideas. |
