Do you do anything other than train?

Im starting a Pilates class tonite that the gym provides. Has anyone ever done Pilates? Do you take classes like Yoga or spinning, and have you found it beneficial?

MtnBikerChk and I take spinning classes. We love it. Helps us stay in shape for mountain biking. We took a cardio kickboxing class once. I liked it, but just have not gotten around to going consistently.

I still do some boxing training every week(bag work and shadowboxing), simply because it is good conditioning. This summer I plan on taking some one-on-one classes in Capoeira.

I just got back from Pilates, and it was a lot of stretching and isometric stuff. Lots of variations on leg lifts and push ups, IMHO. I wish they offered it in the morning, b/c it really made a difference in my workout tonite, as opposed to me coming in at 6:00 am and doing 3 minutes of stretching.

I'm usually in either a softball league or football league while keeping to a full workout schedule. I drop these activities when a bodybuilding contest is nearing.

Pilates and yoga are both good adjuncts to an overall workout routine, unless your goal is to primarily add alot of muscle.
