    Powertec Squat Machine

Has anybody used one of these? Do you use it with the angle or flat-footed? How effective is it?

It's probably not as effective as free weight squatting would be.

Personally I love those types of squat machines. IMO they can be very effective for stimulating hypertrophy as you can load up the plates on totally focus on the eccentric portion of the lift with out worrying about your form as you do with a free weight back squat...
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

After years of free weight squatting it seems i'm in the minority. IMO a good squat machine's better, because of the advantages in going to failure without risk. %$#$ the stabilizer muscle logic.

i like squat machines. I also like having confidence with free weights. So i always mix it up between machines and free weight.
