squat - problem with straight back
hello,
today i noticed that when i do squat my back isn't straight, so part of the load going on the erector spinae, i tried to do the squat with straight back and i can't do that!, always my back is going forward and i don't know what to do, i tried to work with smith machine, i step 30cm forward and tried to do the exercise again, there is a improvement in the movement but still the movement isn't good. my coach told me that i have to buy a weight belt and this will solve the problem, any opinions? thanks. |

take a look at the example. Your back & spine should stay straigh not curved or arched, but your back will angle forward. and forget the wieght belt, they suck. Hope this helps |

yes, however I find that I can use my arms for leverage better than with weight on my shoulders/traps...I used to ahve this problem too, worked with db's for about 2 months, perfecting my form and now having no trouble with squats...

Not sure about that. Check this out for Squat - Olympic. It suggests 'Keep a natural arch in the back.' |

Maybe they mean to keep a natural arch backwards. Whenever I do squats, my back isn't completely straight; I think it's arched backwards just a little. If you keep an arch forwards, won't it cause you to have that hunched over back that's consistent with poor form?
