    Huge Reflex Improvements !!!!

ever since i started weight training seriously (1 year ago) but more importantly training smarter (6 months ago) ive eperienced huge reflex improvements. Every time something falls outta the fridge or off the table 8 times out of 10 ill catch it and the other 2 times i get a good hand on it but it slips. Any of you find similar side effects due to resistance training or physical training in general?

Yes. This is kind of interesting since when you train with weights (at least when I train), you're not really reacting to anything. It's just a cool thing that you can have a big carry-over to the real world and that it can help you with some small stuff. I wonder how much of a carry-over this type of training would have: http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/shenandoah/OBB/OBB.html.

I have had fast reflexes for as long as I can remember, which is kind of strange to some people because they think someone taller than them should be slow. I can also still to kipups (without hands) and hand springs (flips freak me out I admit).

I have also always had fast reflexes. But my roommate and I used to work on it, He was a hockey goalie and it pissed him off that I was 'quicker' than him. It’s amazing how you can actually improve something like that. We worked a lot on hand eye coordination, i.e. throw and catch a ball with out looking at our hands, playing footbag (hackysack), juggling.
You will be very surprised at the results

    Mudge whats are kick'ups?

A kippup is when you are on your back, and using your legs, and optionally hands as well, get yourself back to a standing position by using body momentum. Roll back, and use your legs with a snapping forward motion to do this. I generally dont use my hands for this (not that I'm doing this on a regular basis).

For some reason a lot of kids that tried this looked like fish out of water, where it came naturally for me. I'm no freaky gymnast but I have always been flexible and somewhat coordinated. It may simply but that some others doubt themselves much more, I dunno.

It may not actually be your reaction time that has improved, but your rate of force generation and musuclar coordination. Just a thought.
