    I need more gains!!

I began working out and dieting routinely 6 months ago. When I started , I weighed 158. I'm now up to 175. Obviously, some of that is fat, but alot is also gained muscle mass. I have hit what seems to be a plateau and cannot gain anymore. I eat just about as much as I can handle.... Six times a day, protein shakes, and creatine shakes are included in my diet. What can I do to gain more muscle mass?

if you have hit a weight gain plateau and are currently not gaining either muscle or fat then your cals are insufficient...

    what are your macros ?
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

How much protein, carbohyrates, fat and total calories are you consuming daily?

Macros are the three macronutrients. Micronutrients are vitamins/minerals etc.

what if you hit a muscle gain plateau? meaning you can't seem to gain any more natural muscle but your putting on fat weight, even though your eating clean?

would that indicate a need to drastically switch up your training regime? or is that a sign that you may be nearing your genetic limits?

You need a good diet, but you need to cycle training regimen too, OR, like I do most of time, cycle intensity (that's why I love HST) I dont stop gaining.

revise your training and diet man.

How many calories per day are you eating?

The fact is, unless your metabolism slows down you have to eat more, period.

While you may feel you are eating as much as you can, you are talking about comfort. I know a guy locally who is up to 335 pounds, he eats what is to me a disgusting amount of food. If you want it, you will find a way to do it. If you go and try to add 2000 calories on top of your daily diet right off the bat, then you will probably fail.

Count your calories in a journal of some kind, paper or online.

There will come a point when no matter what your routine switching is, you are going to have difficulty adding mass naturally. Things slow down, thats just how it goes. Most people are not going to hit 250 or 280 pounds naturally while being lean.

there is no fucking way that this guy is at that stage now since its been only like 6 months that he works out.....he is probobly stuck somewhere else in training and eating.....I think the first 2 years of serious bodybuilding are the hardest, if you survive the 2 years then you know that you have acomplished something and its going to keep you moving deeper into it......

Hmm, i was afraid of this too...although i think my caloric intake is limiting me right now...

Another related question...if someone has hit the plateau that Young D speaks of...and adding mass "naturally" if difficult...how much help will something like V12 or Swole supply?

he probobly just needs to refigure his calorie needs, meet the amount, and maybe change some routines in his workout. platues shouldnt be impossible, there are many ways to overcome them.

I think the clue is in the fact he didnt know his macros. Once he gets that fixed, he should continue to progress.

Methinks you have some reading to do. Study the sticky 'guide to...'. It has a LOT of great info to help you sort out your diet as well as a document for suggested food items. It is a lot of info, but the more you know the better you will be able to fix your diet. Everybody comes up with a diet to fit their goals and lifestyle. So come up with a diet plan to suit you and start a thread and someone will critique it for you. You can track your diet at www.fitday.com as well as there is vast info at www.nutritiondata.com But first

to get big you have to eat big. it is hard to eat a ton of cals per day and keep it clean. thats probably why you dont think you can eat any more.

I've never actually counted my caloric intake, but I am covering 1g of protein per lb. of my body weight. I suppose I do need to pay more attention to my caloric intake. My workout routine has also become repetious, so that needs to changes as well. OH yeah, I'm 29 yrs. old.

Do those two things (Change your routine and count your calories), and you will probably gain weight again. If you don't gain weight after 2 weeks or so, then increase that number of calories by 5-10%. It is generally accepted that every pound of muscle you add consumes an additional 50-100 calories per day. This means you get bigger, and you have to eat bigger.

Creatine has never done anything noticeable for me, so its going to depend on the person. Some people start masturbating when they talk about creatine, it just never did anything for me.

I can promise, that supplements will do next to jack shyt if the diet is not there.
