I'd take a day off in between: 2 on 1 off 2 on. Also - I tend to like more reps (8-12) on shoulders, tris and calves. But if that schedule works for you then great. I think you will see some strength gains with the lower reps.
On a side note -
*I'd have a hard time doing it since I do Deads on "back day" and Squats and SLDL on "leg day" - so I definitely need a couple days between those workouts.
I was always under the impression that if you wanted to be lean and cut you should go heavy with low reps 4-6 range on the weights......... when cardio is part of your routine?????????????
maybe I shoud add an extra set on to my shoulders...........
if u want to get cut and lean.. just diet and burn more calories than you are taking in.. i dont even think it atters how you lift even though everyone and their mother says " less weight more reps"
Abs three times a week isn't that bad. They're one of the fastest recovering muscles (with calves)
Doing abs every other day should be OK.
If strength/endurance of the abdominal region is the goal, then yes... but I am pretty sure this guy's goal is to cut up so that he can get a visible six-pack. Since that is all about diet and losing bodyfat, I really don't see any benefit for training them so much.
But at least work your abs last in your workouts, since fatigued abs will negatively affect some of the other exercises you do.
