Question Squats

I want to start doing squats however my knees sometimes give me trouble. Would doing squats using a leverage squat machine be any easier on the knees than a using traditional barbell?

I never did squats because of bad knees since I was a teenager. I thought squats would be bad for my knees. Sine I started working my legs ( squats, leg ext, etc. ) all of my knee pain has disappeared.

Leg workouts in general bother my knees. I haven't done much in the way of squats yet. The reason for my question is I'm considering getting a leverage squat machine thinking it might be easier on my knees than traditional squats. What do you think?

I experienced knee pain also when doing squats..I now do a few light-moderate weight sets of leg ext first and no more pain...
