    Rest Pause training

Rest pause training sure is great for gaining strength I remember trying this routine with some buddies on an Universal weight macine we used the rest pause method on each station before long we were lifting the whole stack on the curl machine at least over 200 lbs in the curl not bad for guys who at the time were considered 100 lb weaklings. there was no more sand kicked in our faces Charles Atlas would have been proud Nuff Said

Rest pause can be quite effective for building size and strength when used correctly and not too often!

Rest pause training is a training method whereby you use a weight that will cause failure within 1-2 reps...you then rest for about 15 seconds and attempt another rep...you then rest for 15 seconds(and perhaps reduce the weight by about 10%) and attempt another rep....you continue this procedure until you have done about 6-8 max attempts.

This is a very effective way to train in that each rep of the "set" is a maximal muscle contraction, unlike a normal set, where only the final rep is at 100% intensity.

The downside is that it is extremely draining on your nervous system and will cause overtraining quickly if used for too many sets, too many bodyparts, and/or too often. Not to mention that you must have a spotter on many exercises, in case you get stuck!
