Weight of Olympic Bars and Bar Diameters

Hello Everyone,
What are the standard weights and diameters of olympic bars? I did a search and unless I am using the wrong key words, I cannot find the info.

I was told by someone in a gym that what I thought was a 45lb bar was acutally 43.5 lbs. Whats up with that?? I thought the bars were standardized. Also, there are bars with different diameters which is great for grip work but...how much do they weigh?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I checked a few sites that sell Oly bars and they range from 43.5 to 45 lbs so I think that all are concidered 45 lbs for simplicity.

At my old gym back in Ohio, I had a suspicion that some bars weighed more then others. So I weighed them. A couple of chrome ones weighed 40 lbs, one was almost 48 lbs, and all the others were 45.

There are bars going close to 100 pounds, a typical bar is close enough to 45 that is what I use always.

When you are talking about moving 200-500 pounds around, 1.5 pounds is hardly going to make a difference when world records aren't involved.
