I'm going to be getting back to the gym after taking a few years off. I'm going to start by doing some push ups for about a month(not straight). I just have a few questions.
1. Is it okay to do them everyday or should I rest a day in between? I usually do about 4 sets with different variations.
2. Should I be breathing in when pushing up or when dropping down?
3. Should I eat something after I do them?
4. Anybody have any variations or routines that they do with push ups that they could reccomend?

I'd go to the weight room and start light instead of just doing pushups. You need to start training your entire body, not just chest and triceps.
