    Cleans ?

OK, this will sound stupid, but my question is when should i perform cleans? I want to add them to my leg workout but have never done them before. I am going to start with light weight to get the form down, but am not sure if i should do them before or after squats. Also when the weight gets heavier should i still do squats on the same day as them or should i rotate them each other leg workout?

    Thanks.

Personally, I hate them. I dislike the feel of going from a lift to a push. It just feels unsafe.

Plus, because of the mechanics, you are limited in the weight that you can use. I gave them up and do Military Presses and Deadlifts. Individually, I can use more weight.

Cleans are great. I do them with or without the squat. With the squat before doing my normal squats on leg day. Without the squat on shoulder and trap day. I'm kinda weak in the shoulders and for me the clean has strengthen my shoulders so I have been able to increase my bench press. Cleans are a very good overall strengthening exercise.

    Peace

ok cool, thanks for the input all. I think i am going to do them after my squats to start with, since i'll be useing much lighter weight to start and i will probably to 2-3 sets. My next leg workout is Friday so i am just gonna have to see how it goes.
    thanks

I don't do them at all. Cleans and Squats to make up for them on leg day.

So you're saying you don't do cleans at all, but you do Cleans and Squats on leg day to make up for not doing cleans?

Am I the only one that finds that confusing?

You must be, obviously they meant that..............um..........er..........
What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)

Hey KarlW what's up? Have you taken a look at my journal at all? Seems to be going pretty well. I am making slow progress on my back, there's some more definition there then before, well, I probably shouldn't go on as to hijack the thread
