Ever tried doing front squats? After tearing my Patellar tendon doing regular squats I switched to fronts and am loving life. My knees don't hurt, my quads get fried, life is grand.

Were there any other leg exercises that you performed that could have potentially caused pain in your knees as well?

When you do SLDL your not hyper extending your knees are you? You want your legs slightly bent, but stiff, hence the name stiff leg deads.

Also on your squats, I'm sure you know this, but you are sitting back and not letting your knees go over your toes? I know thats basic but Im just offering up suggestions.
