if you do it right one set is definetly enought. DC training is not for the faint of heart.

Is it really enough to do 1 set per exercise? If you don't know the doggcrap method you do 8 reps then take 12 death breathes and do 4 more reps then take 12 more deep breathes and do 3 more and hold it at the top for 20 seconds.

I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Ok thanks LAM, off to the gym now.

12 deep breaths for me would be right close to a minutes time until I start getting tired and breathing quickly, so thats basically more than one set.

My bro, Duncan does it and loves it. I did it for about 8 weeks and saw great results. But LAM is right.. DEFINITELY not for the faint of heart.....and you really need a spotter.

It says 12 fast deep breaths, or 20 seconds what ever comes frist.

I remember doing 20 seconds, its more punishing than one single straight set.
Some people get stronger on his stuff, one guy who just hit 570 bench in the senior division got weaker on his program. I liked it as a change of pace but didn't really find the program to do anything special for me, but as I've said before in all fairness I did not pay him to train me specifically I just ran his generic training theories as found on the net.
If you look at InHuman though it obviously works for him. He declined 495 for 10 easy reps, and does 7-8 plates on the incline hammer strength press, for reps.

the volume is so low with DC I would find it very hard to overtrain using that program. I will definetly use it again my next bulking cycle.

I can't even imagine doing 10 sets of 10 while on gear. eventually one of these days, I will have to try it (GVT).

Well do it Mr. Lam and tell us what you think. We'll all listen to you.
so do you just do this for one excersise or is that all you do for one given body part. like should one do the one rep style for 4 diff. bi excersises for example.?Originally Posted by ihateschoolmt
do you increase the weight at all or no?
and lastly, can you do that with 3 sets or is the weight so intense that you will not even have the energy to do it?
Hi,
Im new here. Bit about myself.

I run my own personal training business in Oz.
All your posts are interesting but can I just add something
What advice ppl give is only good for certain people, you have
to find out what works for you. Doing volume training as described
by someone as 10 sets 10 times to me is a waste of time. Once
your muscles are fatigued and exhausted what is the point of doing
more? Want a good example. Look at the elite athletes, such as
American Grid Iron players (some) you wont find them in the gym
doing GVT but look at their bodies. Awesome huh...
For the amateurs out there who have questions ill be here to answer
them.

I wasnt referring to the amount of sets performed... more of the frequency... i had a friend who tried it and he overtrained because of the intensity + frequency of doing the same body parts... its kinda weird because you qwould figure he recovers quickly because he never gets sore(he claims once a month or so he would get sore)
Ha ha ha
Very funny all.
Some ppl arent as knowledgeable as others and have just
begun working out so therefore called amateurs/beginners.
As for myself I have studied several years and consider myself
pretty cluey with the whole process. .
I was only trying to help the beginners who are often embarrased
to ask questions. Just like I was in the beginning.
So before judging me why dont you listen to some of my comments
and make up your own mind about me. I will probably even learn
something from you guys
