    knee pain question

I'm a little worried about my knees....on leg day while doing squats after 225 pounds I have to start wraping....once my knees are wraped there is no pain...even on my heaviest set 475x3...after my leg workout (few hours) my knees start to bother me a bit....nothing to painfull...but if I can "pop" the knee joint it takes away 99% of the pain....anyone else have this? Should I lay off the heavy squats? Just curious...don't want to damage anything permanently...

    Thanks 350Z

I had the same problem with my knee when I would squat. How far down are you going when you squat?

I go down to parallel 95% of the time.....my form is soild....but this knee thing is bothering me...I'm starting to lean out...in a few weeks I'm gonna start running and I've learned from the past that running + heavy squats (to keep the size on) require pretty good knees.....

I used a knee brace for a while that kept the knee secure. Try not to run on pavement or concrete. It's the worst thing you can do for your knees, and get good running shoes.

stop wrapping, it damages your knees.

if your goal is "bodybuilding" there is no reason to wrap.

DiMaggio....dude without wraps I can't squat more than about 250lbs....my legs don't get any kind of workout with that kind of weight. How does it damage your knees? I've seen pictures of many bodybuilders using them....just curious man....thanks for the input.

What about running on gravel? Are treadmills, indoor tracks, and gravel better than pavement/concrete?

Definitely, anything is better than the street or sidewalk. My choice would be grass, but if not then I would pick an indoor track or gravel but you would have to worry about twisting an ankle. Treadmill is pretty good too if it is a commercial one.
