Barbell rows

I changed up my routine to these and wanna make sure im doing them right,I was doing alternating one arm dbell row's and could go moderitly heavy with them 75# db's,im finding I cant even do close to that with the bar. What degree of an angle should you be at when doing bentover bb rows? I think I bend a little to much since I feel it in my lower back, would it be better to lean on an incline bench to do them?

There is no "right" degree. Some prefer bent over at 90, so prefer "yates" rows which are more upright and some prefer somewhere in between the two.

I think about 45 is where I was, another Q; is when you pull the bb towards you are pulling more towards mid section or higher than that? I found that I prefer an underhanded grip with them to

I pull into my gut with the bar somewhat against my legs. I bend over somewhat similar to Yates, not very much. I used to use underhanded grip but it bothered my biceps with time, now I do overhand grip only, but with straps.

Same story with me - 45 degree angle, brought into upper abs, overhand grip only, with straps.

I usually switch between two styles:

I do the classic bent rows, during which I position my upper body nearly parallel to the floor, I use a pronated grip, and I bring the bar to my mid/upper abs.

I also do yates rows. I keep my upper body at about a 45 degree angle to the floor, I use a supinated grip, and I bring the bar to my lower abs/waistline.

The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

Then there's grip width.

A wide grip, with elbows out, gives a distinctly different feel in the back than a narrow grip with elbows tucked in.

What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)

I tend to work rows barbell rows lighter at at roughly 30/45 degree angle. I only go heavy with T-Bar rows. If the weight is too much for Barbell rows, my lower back wants to arch and my legs start to bend closer to the floor so redirecting the weight, sending the stresses to my thighs and lower back ,not the upper lats like intending. I always curve my spine down so to reduce stress on the lower back and concentrate the weight and effort to the upper lats, your ass sticks out and you look like a fag for a few sets, but it doesn't give any aggro to the lower back. If you wanted too, line up an incline bench, bit higher than 45 degrees and rest your head on the topof that when doing bent over rows. Obviously, put a towel or something down so not to smash your head, and NEVER exert force down through your neck, just use it as a stabilizer. You look like a dick briefly as I said, but if it works, its a good one. I don't use the underhand grip anymore as it strains my forearms and biceps.
