I finally hit 405lbs on my bench!

I know this may not be that big of a deal to a lot of people but after totally blowing out my shoulder a few years ago I had to start from scratch. I'm stronger now than I was before I hurt it. Man, four plates on each side! Well I was just pumped. I just did it yesterday.

Why would it not be a big deal? Most people can't touch a 405 bench much less beat it by a margin enough to "not be a big deal" or respectable.

    Nice work.

Only a tiny percentage of those who workout will ever bench 315, let alone 405! Damn it, you SHOULD be proud!

Is that really true or are the spotters lifting it for him? Just asking.

Its a joke, the spotters are doing it.

    * Ends of the bar not shown during the lift
    * Sufficient time for spotters to walk 15 feet away after the "lift"
    * Shit eating grin on lifters face before, and after the "lift"
    * Close grip benching 405, and he can't keep the bar level? Hmm...

The motion and speed the bar travels in also makes it pretty obvious.

First thing I noticed was his right hand, the bar was lifted a second before he even pushed off. The grin after the lift said it all......I would be spent after that lift.

Single rep benches dont drain me too much, a dead or a squat etc though yeah. I actually maintain more energy through my lifting with heavy benching versus high reps. I just have to watch that I dont hurt myself though so I dont do a lot of that stuff, long rest periods help though.

Hey thanks a lot everybody. O.k. I'm pretty damn proud, I just didn't want to sound like a bragging ass! You don't know how much I appreciate the congrats. That is why I love this sight, everyone is always pulling for each other and are honestly pumped when others accomplish a goal of thiers. Oh yeah and when I said I'm half way satisfied, what I meant was that I'm going to keep trying to push for more ofcourse. How much more is the question, I'm betting not much more! Thanks again guys.

Yeah Mudge, I watched the clip before I read this quote! I hear to tell you that it went up a lot slower than that for me!

Accually yeah, I do take creatine. As God as my witness I'm clean and have always been clean. Hard work and good genetics I guess. Oh, and I weighed 228 this morning but I'm only 5'2". No I'm just joking, I'm 5'10 1/2".

Hey Newt, how long did it take you to reach that goal? What was your starting weight?
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.
