cardio at night vs. morning + when to eat?

For someone not interested in bodybuilding and simply looking to stay fit and maintain or possibly lose some (overall)weight:

will doing cardio in the morning be more beneficial than at night? and if it is, is doing cardio at night useless and possibly even bad? Should I do cardio in the morning before breakfast, or eat breakfast and do cardio like an hour after? fat loss is the goal. thanks

do a search, it has been debated endlessly in this forum.

basically some say all you will lose is muscle if you don't decrease all the cortisol floating around in your blood with some food first thing in the morning.

Others swear by it and say that is the only way to lose stubborn fat because of lack of substrate in the morning your body is forced to burn your stored energy (aka bodyfat).

Only way is to try and see how you specifically respond. As i said do a search for a more detailed answer.

I would just stick to doing cardio on your non-lifting days after getting food in your stomach. The cardio first thing in the morning gig should be a last resort in my opinion.

I eat breakfast, go to the gym, do 10-15 minutes before lifting, and 10-15 more minutes afterward. I've done this forever, science is just now though saying it's better than 20-30 minutes straight. I could have told them that

What about it is better? I'm not doubting you, but I've never heard that myself. References?

Two months ago in American Health & Fitness mag, I think last month in M&F, and this month in FLEX. They say it keeps you from boredom (which it does, IMO) and burns the same amount of calories and actually burns a bit more fat when split up instead of doing it all at once.

multiple sessions of exercise in one day is also a good way to increase insulin sensitivity
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Would keep your metabolism up too.
What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)
