    Bench Max

    How low do u have to go for maxing? I did my 165 lower than 90 degrees elbow a little

    IMO, it doesn't count unless it would be legal in competition. so if you are benching raw, you can touch and go
    I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

    but if you are benching raw it's pretty much touch and go. they don't make you pause like they do when benching with a shirt. bascially they are just checking to make sure that you have control over the weight.

    but what do I know, only benched 567 raw at 229 ...lol

    I go down till the bar touches my chest I think my max now is 180.

    thats crazy man... when u go all the way down.. it is soo hard to get it back up. U passed the point where u barley have any muscles applied to ur chest.

    A guy told me if u have a large frame, then u go all the way down. If you are skinny, you go till ur elbow is 90 degrees

    Of course its harder to get up. Thats what a proper bench press is. I think ill just put 600 on the bar and do 2 inch contractions. I can bench 600!

    The bench press is a compound lift, if all you wanted to work was chest then dont bench.
