    Overtraining in the forearms

    I've read here that working the same muscle group two days in a row is detrimental to building muscle and gaining strength. So why do the forarms (don't know the technicle name) grow if virtually every arm exercise at least partialy uses these muscles?
    The forearms are what are used for grasping and controling with the hand right? So everytime you work with a bar you are using these. For that fact why don't fingers get overtrained? Or if overtraining isn't a factor why don't they get insanely huge and strong? Also, what finaly limits the size of the muscle? Why can't you go on getting bigger till the day you die?

    I know its a lot of questions...look forward to your answers.

    They're like calves and abs, they can handle more because they adapt to being used so often. Because they aren't the only support of the bar you're holding, they can continue to hold up. If you trained them individually one day real hard, the next day you'd probably have some trouble gripping bars.

    Overtraining does have a negative impact on optimal muscle growth, but it doesn't stop the muscle from growing. And like musclepump mentioned, some muscle groups can handle much more training/use that others.
