Looks like a Mike Mentzer routine. Where'd it come from?
i came across a routine on the web and I would like to get some opinions on it as to whether it could/would be a useful routine. I assume the premise is to go to failure on the sets and use a very heavy weight and progressive overload, yadda yadda...
ok here it is:
monday
squats 1x20
bench press 2x8
bb rows 2x8
curls 2x8
abs 1x50
thursday
deadlifts 1x15
overhead press 2x8
chinups 2x8
dips 2x8
abs 1x50
now that is 2 days a week, 16 sets a week, with one or 2 the most direct sets for each bodypart. no calf work either, is that necessary? Does anyone think this can be a viable routine? Is there enough stimulation to be able to achieve an overload each week, ie is this enough to produce results to where you would increase weight each week?

"in the howling bleeding nights, the dogs plunge into the Volga and swim desperately to gain the other bank. The nights of Stalingrad are a terror for them. Animals flee this hell; the hardest stones cannot bear it for long; only men endure."
i dont remember the exact page, but since you mention Mentzer, I recall there were references to HIT in the article. I only copied the routine so I dont remember exactly. From what I have read here you do HIT Duncans, is that correct? How is this routine in comparison to yours?
