Also I wanted to know how often to work each muscle.
I just bought my first set of weights. I went to Big 5 sporting Goods and bought a 100lb barbell and dumbell set (2 dumbell handels, 1 barbell). I was wondering if someone could suggest a website that has barbell and dumbell exercises and also websites that have illustration on how to do the exercises.
Thanks

These 3 should be enough to help you. You should work you major muscles once a week so say if u do chest/back on monday, wait 5-7 days until you work them again.

You can also browse though the Online Journals section of this website to get ideas. Keep in mind that many of the journals are kept be some very experience people though. As such, you shouldn't try to emulate everything they do.
If you find a routine in a journal that appeals to you, ask that person to simplify it for you. Just don't ask in their journal. Do it here in the Training forum so that you don't clutter up their journals.
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
to improve their lives.

Not all of the exercises on this site are for dumbells or barbells, some use machines, but there are plenty of barbell/dumbell exercises as well. It's pretty helpful if you are just starting off because it shows video clips of proper form for each exercise.
thanks, if anyone else has any more websites just post it.
