Seasoned athlete, beginner lifter needing weight advice

I'm starting a lifting routine. I have swam competitively for ten years, so I've done lots of physical training before. However I am not lifting for any sport, but lifting itself. To get big, you know?

Anyhow, today is legs, and I've never done these exercises:

    Squats
    Leg Press
    Stiff Leg Deadlift
    Leg curls
    Standing calf raises
    Seated calf raises

Could somebody let me know what some popular mistakes are regarding form for these particular exercises, and any tips on how to do them right?

As well, what would a starting weight be to work up from for each, to find what weight to use? For example on bench press I started with the bar, and added weight until I settled on sets of 5 with 125 lbs. (I weigh 138 so I'm a featherweight )

Jesus, where to start? LOL. I haven't got all day. Try a Google and look for stuff on the Net, should be heaps.

Good place as any. Do that with everything.
What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)
