I feel twice a week is good, without going overboard. Though I would tend to do that only when they are just showing (which is as far as I got).

As you can see in my photo's I come from a power lifting background... so yea. I have a rather large mid-region.![]()
Since those pics last year I have dropped some significant body fat(mostly from HIIT and diet), and gained alot of leg size from squating again so my BF% seems to be going down all over. However, I still have a significant amount of fat around my core. It seems like every non lean thing I eat goes straight to my stomach.
I have been doing abs once a week, and letting them recover like all my other muscles. Since they are a minor muscle would it be optimal to work them out twice a week, or should I just keep up with the one time a week? I am trying to get some abs to show(my first ever!) before summer. I know they are under there somewhere.![]()
Lift hard, or go home!

Zed : Well, I guess you're gonna have to go wake him up now, won't you?

What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)
You cant spot reduce fat.. but training abs 2-3 times a week is fine.

I alternate ab training sessions. one day I'll do weighted the next non-weighted. when I do them it's only maybe 3x a week.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.
I really like HIIT cardio training. Maybe you should try increasing the time you use HIIT by decreasing the time sprinting and increasing the time you jog, ya know what I am saying? I love HIIT! Keep using it! Definetly keep up with the cardio. I would think you are using weighted ab movements, however I am not really sure if someone of your size needs to use extra weight. I am a somewhat lighter person so it might be more important to use weights for abs in my routine. Do you guys still say use weights for abs for someone who has more top heavy weight? Good luck bro.
