HIIT-increases heart rate throughout day?
IS doing HIIT supposed to increase your heart rate throughout the day?

Yes, it will do that.
However, if you notice a significant increase in your resting HR on a day off, usually taken upon awakening, you are overreaching which can be remedied by a day or 2 off. If you notice a large difference in morning HR, you are overtraining, which would require a little more time off. Of course, you would expect to notice an increase in morning HR if you did HIIT later in the evening the day before. |

Ive read from a few sources that your metabolism remains, "reved up" for much longer post excercise than after doing regular cardio. I would assume it wouldnt take too long for your heart rate to return to normal.

It's only a couple beats, not anything you would really notice. Even if you took a 15 second pulse you wouldn't notice it.
