I love lifting, I love the feeling in the gym, after the gym, and the days after the gym. I love to see changes in my body.

On a side note, dieting sucks.

I love it. I love thinking about it beforehand, I love doing it, I love thinking about it afterwards, and I love going over my routines and picking at them until I feel they're perfect... and then picking at them after I actually do them to see what could've been better. I love researching it, and I love doing it. The only thing that's not my favorite is dieting, but it's better to be healthy with a good diet than eat what you want and die ten years early anyways.

whats wrong with dieing 10 years early? lets say you die at 80 and you would have died at 90. think about what you are giving up. those 10 years are the ones when you are too old to do anything for yourself. when you cant see, hear, and have trouble remembering peoples names. when you used to bench 350 but now you cant wipe yourself properly without injuring your hip. im willing to sacrifice those 10 years.

^^ haha true ...i love lifting...too many reasons to explain it all but one of them is that you cant buy a healthy/sculpted/strong/good looking body and its something to be proud of (imo steroids isnt healthy at all, regardless of how careful you are)

I really don't care what anyone thinks about steroids. It just that every time someone says something like that everyone tries to tell him that there not dangerous if you take them correctly and it starts a flame war.

ok, now what if you lived a healthy lifestyle and died because you were attempting to break your record at 90 years of age on bench and the bar snapped because there was too much weight, because you kept yourself in good shape and ate good all of your life... the better you eat, the less health risks you have and the better your body functions over all, and obviously you live longer and theres a better chance you wont develope any problems later in life (besides arthritis or something else involved with heavy lifting).

i love lifting and when i do i know that im doing something incredibly healthy, something i love to do because i love improving myself, and every time i step into the gym i get another chance to show myself up and do more than i did last time. theres no way ill go back to how i was, and when i was eating whateve ri watned before , i would have probably died not just 10 years early, but probably 40 years early, like most people will now with the major increase of heart disease, clogged artieries and such you get from eating whatever you want. so think about it before you eat anything and everything.... and you dont have to eat horrible food to eat incredibly good things, you can eat perfectly healthy meals and still get an awesome ass meal... a big ass steak, baked potato, soup, salad, and a tall glass of iced tea..... whats wrong with that? id take that over pizza any day

    Forsooth! Thou art an arse.

i agree with Cardinal. I think about it all the time, and i love doing it but it can't be my #1 priority all the time because its highly doubtful that i'll ever become a pro in any sport so i need to balance life and lifting.

well i love it, and i do think about it everyday but since i live in the real world and i'm not rich occasionally i need to put it a little lower on my priority list. i voted option 2, but i'm more in between 1 and 2

sounds like a good idea except for reality. the fact is 90 year olds are doing amazing things now adays, but if im peaking at 90 then i must have been extremely lazy in my 20's and 30's and thats just not the case

I enjoy it because it is a stress release for me. I do it largely out of convienience. I am a football coach and I have to be in the weight room with my athletes anyway so I lift. It serves as great motivation when they see their ol'coach moving some iron!

It's like a drug with me...I HAVE to have it. However, with my work schedule and travelling, I don't put as much effort into it as I used to. When I do travel, I do get to workout w/new and different people in different cities which is a definite plus.
