Swimming good fat burner?/My latest Photos

I am about to start swimming again in addition to my cardio, how many lengths/meters would I need to complete to make it worthwhile? Also weighting for my fat measurer to come through any guesses? Thanks My weight is 203lbs here (cold)

If swimming was a good fat burner whales would not be fat.

How can you relate a whale BF% with different genetic make up to that of a human, I have been advised (rightly.or wrongly) to swim by one of the PT at the gym to use muscles that would not normally be used during my training schedule. Even if its not a particularly good fat burner just want an idea of how many cals burnt per meter etc

    nice bicep peak
What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)

Swimming is a great cardio exercise, that along with the right diet, you should be able to get ripped.

I would swim for the cardio but it's not that great for reaving up the RMR. for that doing sprints several times a week beat swimming hands down.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

Swimming is good cardio but it takes too damn long. I can swim forever without getting tired.

It is because you swim in clean water. It is not dense enough.

I dont know if there is anything to prove this and it might also be a myth but I am still going to put it out there. I heard that being in cold water makes your body store more fat to preserve temperature. I swam for a bit but wasnt getting enough from it really. Running I found much more challenging. I did like doing back stroke with just legs (im sure its not called back stroke then). I got a good burn in my legs from doing that. Swimming is okay in my book though, dont know if its a good fat burner though.

I think so, if those are recent photos of you in your gallery. But you will have to get your diet straight.

In my opinion fat burners are more of a last resort. If you can burn the fat with diet and exercise then do that, or at least give it a good try.

You donīt know the tradition of IM.
We were not arguing, me and Dale, we were just being the regular IMers. You will get used to it.
