    one arm bigger

My right arm is 1/2 inch bigger than my left. Can I train the left more intensely so it catches up?

the best way to do it would be to train them equally. the left will catch up.

A trick i use is when doing dumbell curls, I always start with the left side first (my weaker side), so I hit failure on the left side before my right side gets the extra rep... this also hits the left more intensely because it's getting overload while the other is not... not sure if that's the best advice, but it works for me somehow.

That's a good idea. I agree that you should do both with the same intensity. Both will reach the same end, but the right will grow more slowly than the left, and they will eventually even out by themselves. Just make sure to train them equally as said before, and it's always a good idea to do the weaker arm first just so you don't go overboard with the stronger one.

I had the same problem when I had biceps tendonitis and my left arm would tire faster than my right and my left arm became much larger than my right arm. I would always make sure to work them equal or if that doesn't work do an extra set just for your smaller arm unless you're overtraining

my left still tires faster than my right and it's been 5yrs of training. they are the same size though. My left tri is a bit stronger than right so it's kinda weird. Oh well just
lift weights dude and stop worrying so much. just do more 2 arm excercises for a
while till your happy and not so self concious about your left arm.

try using barbells for your arm exercises..... that way when one gets tired to the point of exhaustion the other one doesnt get any more work than it needs, even if it isnt tired out or anything.. eventually it should catch up...... correct me if im wrong on this, but it always feels like the arms get a more even workout for me using bars instead of DB's, even though dbs can give a better burn because of balance and all

i definately agree with you there. I really don't like db workouts on arms
they do have there good points as far as concentraiton goes but I do
feel I just do allot better with barbell workouts for arms. when it comes
to chest I love me some DB's but that's really about it!

are you sure you don't have tendonitis in your bicep, tricep, elbow or rotator? I thought my left arm was weaker but eventually it got worse. Does your arm hurt at the end of workouts?

Actually I think the DBs are what will correct any differences in strength. Think about it, if you're benching and one arm is a little weaker than the other, and, say, it gives out and you can't quite lift the bar all the way, the stronger one will help pick up the slack, and you're, in effect, nurturing the weaker arm and making it weaker while making the stronger arm stronger, and throwing off the imbalance by an even greater degree. When you use DBs, there are no shortcuts and there's nothing to help that weaker arm. It has to do everything all by itself and either you complete all the reps or lower the weight to compensate.
