I didnt mean to put this in Training how do I move it to General Interest?
Do we have any people in here pushing over 600 on their bench? I was looking at some stats from a weight lifting comp and it sparked my interest. I havent heard anyone talking about a 600 or more bench really? Maybe I missed it.

Never seen anyone claim outside of the 500s that I can recall. I'd like to see 5 really soon, but I dont know how soon that will be, and if. I started a Metal Militia style routine not too long ago to try and help get me there, and no, not raw. Heavy raw benching for extended durations = pain, most especially in my left pec.

How much difference can a lifting suit do if say your raw bench is 200lbs?

A bench shirt must be trained in, and it depends on the fit and material of the shirt as well as how its positioned on your body. If you dont have the triceps to lock it out, it wont do much of anything for you. So, it depends on several factors.
The guys who are raw benching 700ish (Mendelson for example) are in the 900s contest, and he hit 1005ish for a double in training. From the video I saw he could raw bench more if he was willing to risk a pec tear, and even 700 is pushing it.
Glen Chabot never hit 700 raw and tore his pec twice. Chabot got about 35 out of his shirt, which was double ply poly. I am getting about 25ish so far after being in it I believe 3 sessions, it hasn't really moved, and the shirt is loose for training purposes.
A very tight double ply denim or poly shirt, 200ish for the big guys who HAVE the triceps to make it happen. Its not just put on the shirt and throw up huge weights.

I can bench 600 pound dumbells. Does that count?
I wonder if anyone's done over 200 lb DBs before. I saw that video of Coleman doing that for 12 reps, but I wonder if they even have heavier ones...

I have trouble increasing weight for my bench. Im stuck at I think 85 and thats pathetic![]()
your 14, its fine for your age, once you start getting pubes and so on that means your getting more testostrone so your lifts will get a lot heavier, just dont give up
Im 18
Don't worry about it. Just change your routine and start using DBs. What's pathetic is when huge guys go into the gym and curl 135 by leaning back ten times to rock the weight up; do it the right way and you'll be better off than people like them anyways. Besides, you have a LONG time to train, so don't worry about it. Just keep making little gains and it'll add up.
