    Question Cardio question

Hey all, a quick question. Here is a brief rundown of my routine. I work out in the evenings six days a week working one muscle group a day. I have recently started getting to the gym in the morning to do 20 minutes of interval on the elliptical machine (cardio), and another 20 minutes in the evening after my workout. I am doing this to lean down for the summer after bulking for a few months. Does anyone see any drawbacks to this routine or have any advise. BTW I eat six meals a day as well. Thanks

IMO, you should cut down the number of days you work out. Generally, all 3-4 days a week is more than enough for you to hit everything. As for cardio, do it first thing in the morning or right after your workouts. I don't know why you're doing it 2x a day (so does that mean you're doing it 12 times a week??)

Alaric, I work out 6x a week so I may really hit each muscle group hard. Monday-shoulders, Tuesday-off day Wednesday-chest, Thursday-legs, Friday-triceps, Saturday-biceps, Sunday-Back I do Eight excercises and three sets of each of those excercises each day. I do abs every three days. I am trying to get my bodyfat down before summer I am going for 6 or 7% and I am at about 11-13% now. Plus time doesn't permit me to combine body parts and go for the 3-4 day routine. Thanks for the input.

I would not follow doeslayers routine. It looks like his shoulder day overlaps with his chest day and bicep day overlaps his back day. His tricep day almost overlaps his chest day. Any other thoughts on this?

it hasnt really caught on yet....but i heard that doing your cardio late in the day close to bed time is beneficial to fat loss....theory is that your burning all your carbs in this late session and as long as no carbs enter you in between your last cardio and goin to bed that the effects would be quite noticeable....i havent tried it yet but any time i get a chance i will try it
