    Help with a "Girly" excersize...

I see girls all the time do an excersize that I kinda want to do.

They stand up in front of a mirror with a dumbell in one hand. They then bend side to side slowly so it kind of looks like their trying to get water out of their ears. Im guessing this helps the on the sides of your abs. Why dont guys do this though? Are their any other excersizes that will help with that muscle group and wont make me look gay?

Dumbell side bends focus on obliques, I see guys and gals doing them, I don't consider them particularly 'girly'.
I don't like them though, just a personal preference and this type of weighted oblique work thickens my waistline so I would chose something like oblique crunches instead.

Do a search on obliques and you should get loads of ideas.

A lot of people here don't advocate oblique specific training because it can give the appearance of love handles, normal ab exercises work them enough...in some people's eye's.

I wouldn't train your obliques to much, it messes up a nice "V" taper.

    lol !

soooo many people have no clue at all about what they are doing in the gym
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I used to do them when I was 22 years old and they killed my v look it gave me a boxy look, but if you box I think its a good exercise.
The hit's to the obliques don't hurt as much.
