    How many Squats?

How many sets should I be doing for my legs? Typically I will do 5 sets of Squats X 6-8. 3 sets of SLDL, and Three sets of leg extensions, and three sets of leg curls.

1 week I do 5-4-3-2-1 for power ( this let's you build as much power as you can for the size of your muscle ) then 3x5 or 5x3 or 4x6 or 10-8-6 to build size keeping it mixed up to shock my legs.

On squats, I do 3 lighter warmup sets, then 1-2 heavy sets of about 8-12. If I can get above 12, then I need to up the weight. If I cant get 8, I need to decrease weight.

Your leg routine looks solid though, just throw in some standing calf raises.

I do 2 warmups, 2 working sets, followed by a single set of bottom-range pause squats (aka bottom squats).

If I try and do anymore I risk losing consiousness, as I work very very hard during the 3 sets.

    This statement is absolute nonsense.

My routine is very similar but my warm-ups are extremely light with me doing 1 set with only the bar, and 1 set with 95 pounds. Obviously there warm-ups, but are you expressing any energy on these two warm-up sets or are they simply there to get you ready for your 2 working sets?

depends on what I am doing really and the rep range or intensity I am going for and how the day lies in my overal program as far as what I am pushing for and what the goal of the training session is.

I generally do anywhere from 4-14 reps for working sets and no more than 3 sets, often 2. Depends whether I'm going for weight or reps obviously.

Ok, I did legs last night and had what i thought was a great work out. I got into the squats and just kept going because they felt so good. I worked down 10-8-6-4-2-1. Now I am 39 years old and I squated more than I have in ten years! Keep in mind I have "chicken Legs' but I was able to parrallel squat 365lbs last night! i was so fucking happy I went home and got laid! :-)

It depends on the protocol I am trying, how close to failure I go, the rep range I am using, the frequency that I train my legs, etc. Currently, I am trying Max-OT, which calls for 4-6 repetitions at failure or as close as you can safely go. I do 2 sets of squats, 2 sets of deadlifts, 2 sets of leg presses, and 1 set of good mornings. For my calves I do 2 sets of standing calf raises and 1 set of donkey calf raises. On the same day, I also perform 2 sets of hyperextensions, which do involve the hamstrings and glutes significantly.

I normally do 5X5's. Why not just incorporate your calf workout before racking the bar?

    Peace
