I was reading a little on sissy squats, I was thinking of throwing in a couple sets before my real squats. Do they help any? And what is the propor way to do them ?

Well, to be honest THAT's not the sissysquat that I know of. The way I have seen done is your basic squat movement with one hand on some sort of support to help you up and down if you need it or want it. ?

i really like sissy squats. i typically will use the rope attachement and wrap it around a pole or an upright and then lean back and perform them as in the video.

you definitely don't want to perform them before your regular squats. they're much better as a finishing move at the end of your leg workout in my opinion.

the sissy squat is a GREAT stretch-muscle movement for the quads
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

hey LAM - do you do them before squatting or after? i've only used them at the end of my leg routine...(which doesn't mean that's the best way - it's just what i've preferred)

Definitely don't want to try it after abs since you need your stomach tight when doing it to keep your back straight, it's a good little ab worker in itself.
