    Active Recovery In Depth

Someone explain in depth what active-recovery is, the name is self explanatory... but what is the exact "procedure" you go through for you to call it "active recovery"... give me a training split example if you can

I ask because i want to work out each muscle as much as possible without it affecting my gains in strength... (not really too concerned with size) it took me a long time to give up working out my chest 3 dayz a week

Active recovery is when you do below your maximuim intensity to promote recovery. You will do a cool down after your work outs and then next day train at a very low intensity. It will reduce lactic acid in your blood.

What muscle are you trying to recover faster? I have been told that its best to let the muscle recover with no extra stress and I kinda a agree. Active recovery isnt really worth it I dont think. It is some what hard though to go from thinking it is best to hit something like the chest 3 times a week to only doing it once a week. In the back of your mind your probably thinking like damn this isnt enough I want to do bench.

If i can do it with quicker gains in strength and without overtraining, all of them, if not ill go with my regular split... right now im talking about my legs but if activer recovery is better than "ordinary" rest then id rather do that

The point of active recovery is to train while you are sore. So no, you have to train the day after for maximium benifit. You wont overtrain on low intensity, like 30% what you normally do. Nothing has been proven to say that it works better though.
