now why would u do such a thing? The gym isn't a place to fight, leave your ego at the door and take it up at a bar where people are drunk

    Go lift or go home

the only thing that's ever happened to me was when I accidentaly stole this dude's bar when he was "using" it (it had no weights on it and no one had been at it for 5 minutes). He chewed me out but I just kinda let it go considering I'm only 15, I didn't feel like arguing, and he was a lot bigger.

I assault myself in my gym 99% of the time.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear

no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

the other week i went to change the channel on the tv in the gym (i swear it didnt look like anyone was watching) and this old woman who was wearing about 8 sweatbands came charging at me from her elliptical... apparently she was watching the "top 10 historical places" on the history channel...and they were on #2...oops! (this could also go into the laughing at inappropriate times thread...cuz i did that too!) but props to her for being in the gym haha.

I saw a trainer yell at some dude for dropping the weights once. The dude yelled back and the trainer just walked away. The trainer was a lot bigger and older. I think he just wanted to avoid a fight or a yelling match.

You would actually fight with someone just because your shoulder touched another mans shoulder?

whos straight up assaulted some skinny punk at the gym? or bigger dudes too
Why would yyou assault a skinny punk at the gym? Do you go as far as sexually assaulting the poor skinny guy?

I can understand if he was in prison and he was fighting for water cooler rights and wanted a skinny punk as his prison bitch....but that's Ok only in prison.

This topic is a little on the sad side but anyway, no most people are polite at the gym. Your all there for the same reason, not to let your ego and pissing contest to get in the way

I've gotten upset at one person but no words were exchanged. I see people who dont put their weights back and that pisses me off a bit, but I dont go bothering them about it, its not THAT big of a deal, it just happens to be poor etiquette.

Nobody that I can recall ever said anything to me in an argumentative way or anything of that nature. I've been in commercial gyms for around 13 years now.

Yeah, I'm with Mudge on this one. I would never say something to anyone, but I have gotten mad a couple of times because some people just don't find it necessary to put their weights back, or they walk around like they own the place or whatever.

I've never had a bad experience at my gym. Going around looking to "assault some skinny punk" is pretty pathetic. Unless they are the ones talking shit and being antagonizing, you've got no place saying crap like that. Hell, you should be happy for them to be in the gym, trying to get into shape.

I dont like laziness, so I usually make some kind of passing comment to whoever I am training with. We have nicknames for some of the people in the gym.

One guy that was warming up for lat pulldowns by kicking his legs in the air, Karate Kid, mostly uses machines or dumbells and seems to put his crap back.

Some other guy that wears biker shorts each and every day, Crazy Legs (he never puts his shit back).

Most people are fine at my current gym but the guys that dont put their stuff back, never ever do, every single day.
