    Needing alot of help..

    Hello everybody,
Thank you for viewing my post. My name is Chris, and I am 20yrs of age. I weigh right now around 145-150lbs and I'm around 5'9'' in height.

I will be joining the United States Military (either US Army or US Marines) within around 2-3 months. I need help with a good work-out routine, warmup procedure(s), and diet that I can do from home at a pretty quick rate for strength purposes... The ripping and stuff I do not really care much for, I'm not wanting to target appearance I'm wanting to target strength itself. Ripping is fine if it happen's but not generally what I am looking forward to in the routine. Below is a bit more information, if you have question's outside of these just ask and I will answer.

Am I a smoker? No, I was around 2 weeks ago but came to a complete stop.
Caffiene? I drink dark soda's, not sure if this is something I should cut or not.
Last time I worked out? Around my freshman year in High School. I hit home schooling for my Sophmore, Junior and Senior year.
Area's needed to target most? Push-Up's, Pull-Up's, and Running.
Do I have access to a Gym or Health Club? No, We have 1 Health Club but the pricing is way more then I can afford, around $300 for sign-up and $75/mo after.
Do I have equipment at home? In general, yes. I do have around 110lbs of weight's, bar's, and dumbell's but I have no weight bench or treadmil.
Will I be dedicated to the diet and workout routine? Yes, I will make it apart of my life and push to the fullest in the order directed.
Do you have a partner to help you out? No, I do not have a partner to help me out in lifting and such, I will doing it all solo.. I live by myself, so I will have to do the exercises as safely as possible to avoid getting myself hurt as I have no spotter.

Any and all help will be appreciated. Thank you all for your time and/or advice in advance.

    Sincerely,
    Chris

If I were you I would enjoy your last few months of freedom. Just eat clean and do some cardio. When you start BT they are going to make you into shape wether you like it or not(especially the marines).

GSXR750: That is true.. But I need to prepare before hand, which is what I was told by the recruiter, I just need advice on how I should. I would rather the Physical portion to be easier by being ready ahead of time then pulling anyone else down with me and run the chance of getting the kick crapped out of me.

I served in the Army 14 years ago and I am sure not much has changed as far as the physical training part goes. Get up every morning and try to run 2 miles before breakfast 3 days a week then run 3-5 miles 3 of the other days of the week.
Get a back pack and put some weight inside and strap it on while you run. Do push ups everyday narrow , medium, and wide hand placement, try for around 100 a day , do crunches try for around 100 a day .
Do flutter kicks: lay on yor back hands behind your head legs str8 out now raise your feet about 6 inches off the ground and start kicking left right left right about 6 inches above your original 6 inches never allowing your feet to touch the ground, try to do 100 each leg everyday.
Try to find a way to do pull ups and do as many as you can everyday, do not start smoking again because once you get in basic it is not allowed.
Drink water, water, water because this will become your best friend in basic along with sleep.
You must push your mind and your body to the limit while doing this,if you can do this on your own you can make it through basic training, trust me.
I am proud of the discision that you have made to fight for our country keep your head up and train and you will be prepared for this.
Society will always fear those of us that make our own path.

    My Advise:

Run every other day (or every third day) - go farther faster each time

Do WEIGHTED push-ups, and WEIGHTED pull-ups, and crunches, and do something for your shoulders.

Eat, Eat, Eat and lots of water for sure

    That's about it, not complicated.
Note to self: Eat More, Train Hard, and Eat More!

Oh, the backpack with weight while you run is good. Just use the chest strap on the backpack
